Not what I was expecting

I was looking for a kid friendly picture book for the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. I didn't want cartoon-y illustrations though, so this looked perfect. I viewed the preview but it didn't show much, just one illustration page and a few of the pages that have the publisher info,etc. I took a chance and bought the kindle version because it was cheap. However I am disappointed it only has a few illustrations and really wordy pages in between.

Classic Fairytale

This is such a cute, classic, morality tale of the strange consequences when a child doesn't listen to their parents. Of course, this fantastical tale also has a happy ending. I loved the beautiful illustrations. This fun story is great to read to children who love to use their imagination, transporting themselves into a world of giants, geese who lay golden eggs, and a rich colorful world. Sometimes it is fun being childlike again, reading innocent stories like this one over and over again.

Classic retelling of the fable along with illustrations by Walter Crane (who is definitely no slouch!)

Tale as I remember it with a detailed illustration about every third page on average. Make sure you page backward from where you are dropped off at the beginning so as not two miss two different illustrations. I like the old stuff!
